This list was created to help those who are looking for vegan options. Yes, the company itself isn't vegan and prepares/sells non-vegan products. However, the point of this is to show what can be purchased. Hopefully, a push for more vegan products will have a positive influence on these companies. Feel free to add to the list or remove from the list by commenting on this post. Remember, be kind. We don't need those wearing grumpy pants.
If you want to add or remove to the list, make sure attach a quote, link or photo that proves the change.

Hey! Vegan here who works at McDonald's! (Go figure)
ReplyDeleteI can confirm that all of which are stated above are indeed vegan. However, with coffee, make sure you don't get a cappuccino or mocha as the chocolate powder does include milk solids... they are launching the "hash brown bites" (potato gems) as an a la carte option shortly, and provided they aren't cooked in the same oil vat as the chicken, they are definitely vegan. (Currently bundled in the Summer Side Box)
Our QLD store has 6+ vegans and we take care to cater to this life choice and our gems are cooked in the fries and hash brown vats - therefore vegan!
English muffins were sprayed with liquid butter when I worked there a year ago. I'm not sure if it still happens but could be something to check. Or when ordering ask for no butter spray.
ReplyDeleteThe abbreviation SCO is what they put on muffins. Spray Cooking Oil - so definitely not butter! Very thoughtful though!
ReplyDeleteBoo! The hash browns now contain natural beef flavour (wheat and milk derivatives)
ReplyDeleteNot sure which state you are in? But they don't here.
DeleteIs there sweet chilli sauce vegan?
ReplyDeleteIs their sweet chilli sauce vegan? I can't find any info on it
ReplyDeleteI just found out the other day that the BBQ sauce used on burgers and wraps is NOT vegan - it contains fish :( On the other hand, the BBQ dipping sauce is fine.
ReplyDeletehttps://mcdonalds.com.au/sites/mcdonalds.com.au/files/Food-Core-Menu-8-december-2017.pdf Hi this is a link of the most updated ingredients!! Hope it helps .
ReplyDeleteHi, I stumbled across their ingredients list and it was only updated a month ago. Hope it helps!!! https://mcdonalds.com.au/sites/mcdonalds.com.au/files/Food-Core-Menu-8-december-2017.pdf
ReplyDeleteI order a large Quarter Pounder meal. Then subtract mustard, cheese and the patty. Add extra salads and sauce. Plus two hash browns. I then use the hash browns as a burger patty.
ReplyDeleteIt's really bad though.
Subway and Hungry Jack's have vegan patties. Apparently Finland has the McVegan??? With the upsurge in Vegans creating a demand? McDonalds is cutting its own throat, continually revolving around meat dairy and eggs.
I think vegans everywhere must apply pressure to all fast food outlets to start providing vegan options.
I just bought 2 English muffins and 1 half of each were sprayed with butter, so I guess things haven’t changed.
ReplyDeleteIt`s nice when someone is thinking about the people who doesn`t eat meat, it`s good to have a choice when you want to eat out!
