I would say that I am definitely the last one getting on the 'overnight oats train' as I am quite late in this craze... however, I urge you to try this easy peasy simple dimple recipe as it will blow your mind! All you have to do is just throw everything into a bowl, stir it and then refrigerate it! Then, in the morning when you are all crusty-eyed and foggy-brained, you just stumble to the fridge and start eating your oats! Oh my... I have now entered the world of no-prep breakfasts! There must be a secret society of people who have known about no-prep breakfasts and live their lives all energetic with spare morning time while I slave away in the kitchen making oats on the stove. Yes, I suppose I am being pretty dramatic but still! I am just so enthusiastic about this type of breakfast. Even Jerome loved it and he doesn't really like eating porridge, semolina or oats... so that is saying something! It really is tasty... it is cooling, refreshing, sweet and sooooo creamy! It is like a vegan yoghurt and cereal bowl. Now, I know that you can add lots of extra things to this recipe but I am just adding a nice simple basic recipe for those who have never tried overnight oats before. Check out our tips at the bottom of this page for ideas for extra yummies to add to your bowl or jar. Enjoy!
makes: 1 jar or bowl
2/3 cup rolled oats
1 cup Soy Milky Lite
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1/3 cup blueberries
- Add all ingredients to a bowl or jar and stir until combined.
- Refrigerate for at least 6 hours until thickened and the rolled oats have softened.
- Eat straight from the bowl/jar and be amazed by the ease and deliciousness of overnight oats. Enjoy!
- This is a recipe for a basic blueberry overnight oats. Feel free to add any of the following to liven up your delicious breakfast: nuts, chia seeds, dried fruit, banana, vanilla extract or spices such as cinnamon.
The nutrition information above is an approximate guideline. Each serving of our overnight oats contains 21% of your RDI of iron, 34% of your RDI of calcium and is high in manganese and protein.
Nothing wrong with getting on the overnight oats train late...as long as you're on it now. :)

DeleteHey, almond milk is fine, I use that instead of soy in overnight oats (or pretty much everything). The only difference I have found is that nut milks are thinner (if that's the right way to explain it) than soy.
DeleteI am definitely on the overnight oats bandwagon thanks to this recipe!! I have had it every morning for breakfast for the past week and love coming up with different toppings to try - my favourite so far would have to be strawberry and raspberry. Yum!!
